Stand-out Experience:

Sennyu-ji Temple Tour

Delve into Japan’s spiritual culture with a visit to the Sennyu-ji Temple. This celebrated centre for Buddhist practice was founded in the ninth century at the foot of Mount Tsukinowa in Kyoto’s picturesque Higashiyama district and holds deep ties to Japan’s imperial family. The unique experience is led by an English-speaking monk with in-depth knowledge of Esoteric Buddhism and includes access to parts of the site typically off-limits to the public. The tour is followed by a serene Ajikan meditation session, an ancient Esoteric Buddhist practice designed to foster mindfulness and inner peace. As a token of appreciation, each participant will receive a gift of purifying sandalwood incense, crafted from trees that grow on the temple grounds.
